Pete’s retirement party

Its been a busy old month for us both so this blog has been slightly neglected and for that I apologize, after only the first 2 posts on this blog we seem to have managed to acquire some followers without even pushing it so whoo hoo thank you everyone we sure hope you enjoy it and hopefully we will have much more time now to update it on a much more regular basis in future p.s. we also upgraded it so that you wont have to endure the ads popping up while reading it.

Well what an emotional week as Pete retired from work, he had such an amazing send off with some very lovely and thoughtful presents and cakes made from our work family and then we managed to get quite a few people to come help celebrate his retirement with us on the saturday night, we hired out a friends pub “Porters” on the barbican in Plymouth for us all so cheers “Bishy” then Pete asked our fav local band to come entertain us all cheers “Diamond Geezers” and also then asked his friend from “smiles on the tiles” to come take some amazing pictures of our friends and family so once again cheers “Alex Christaki” we would also like to thank everyone else for making it an amazing night so cheers everyone we sure will miss you all while we are away.

I think its safe to say there were some sore hung over heads waking up on the Sunday morning after and as for me it was not just my head that was sore, just before the night out I had managed to fall all the way down the stairs at home right from the top step to almost the bottom step with a mug of tea in hand, thought I might have got away without injury as although the base of my back was tender and I knew I had bruised it, it was bearable or maybe it was the alcohol masking it later until I awoke on the Sunday morning unable to move properly and with a whacking great bruise on the base of my back so I am currently laid up writing this with plenty of pain killers in me and a hot water bottle placed at the bottom of my back trying to ease it typical…

Oh I forgot to mention something that happened this week that should make you chuckle, Pete thought he would do some chores and some repairs around the house this week as he was feeling at a bit of a loose end and having no work schedule to keep he was a little bored…  me however am still having to work a nightshift and having to try to sleep during the day, so he said he was trying to do his jobs as quietly as possible, this turned out to be sometimes impossible, such as when he decided to fix the doorbell in the middle of the day which hadn’t worked for a long time (I found it annoying to be honest when it did work before) however I awoke to the sound of this annoying door bell and the chiming of “ding dong” constantly for about 10 minutes, I’m still not sure if he forgot I was upstairs trying to sleep or whether he was doing this on purpose, I’d heard him moving around downstairs so knew it was him that was making the chime go off and did the only thing I could do in this situation which was to shout down to him to answer the damn door I heard him meekly say “oups, sorry didnt mean to wake you, I was really trying to be quiet”.

take care folks

Donna
